The Andy Warhol exhibition at IMMA last year was the most popular, in attendance terms, of any exhibition held there. Now Antoinette Murphy of the Peppercanister Gallery is preparing for an exhibition of of twenty of his large, signed and numbered screen prints which will be opened in October. Included in the Peppercanister show will be some of the Pop artists's most memorable images including those of Marilyn Monroe and Ingrid Bergman as well as his colourful renditions of summer flowers and other well known subjects. There will also be examples of his cow screenprints which he wittily translated into decorative waflpaper. These works come to the Peppercanister Gallery from the US and the exhibition will mark an interesting departure for this gallery which to date has concentrated on exhibiting modern Irish art.
